A fireproof bowl — cast iron, ceramic, or a deep metal pot — placed on a heat-safe surface. A small jug of water nearby for safety; we do not want you setting yourself ablaze dear hearts, so please be diligent here. Also, a white candle representing your sovereign light. A black candle representing what is being released. A small dish of sea salt or Himalayan salt. A piece of natural cotton or wool cord, around the length of your forearm. Several small sheets of plain paper and a pen with blue or black ink. Optional: dried sage, palo santo, frankincense resin, or rose petals to bless the space. A glass of pure water to drink afterwards. Perform this ceremony during the waning moon if possible — when the moon is releasing rather than building. After sunset is most powerful. Choose a time when you will be undisturbed for at least one full hour. Disconnect your phone. Tell those you live with that you are entering sacred space. Cleanse the room. Open a window briefly to let stale energy depart. If you have sage, palo santo, or incense, light it now and walk it around the perimeter of the room, asking that all energies aligned with the highest good remain and all others now leave.
