झ्यालबाहिर चल्ने हल्का हावा र गल्लीभरि दौडिरहेका बालबालिकाका पाइला, उनीहरूको हाँसो र चिच्याहटले हरेक पल पृथ्वीमा जन्मिन आउने हरेक आत्माको कथा बोकेर ल्याउँछ — कहिलेकाहीँ ती साना चर्का आवाजहरू हामीलाई झर्को लगाउन होइन, बरु वरिपरि लुकेर बसेका नानाथरी सानातिना पाठतिर हामीलाई ब्यूँझ्याउन आउँछन्। जब हामी आफ्नै हृदयभित्रका पुराना बाटाहरू सफा गर्न थाल्छौँ, यही एक निष्कलंक क्षणभित्र हामी बिस्तारै पुनः-संरचित हुन सक्छौँ, हरेक सासमा नयाँ रङ भर्‍यौँ जस्तो अनुभव गर्न सक्छौँ, र ती बालबालिकाको हाँसो, उनीहरूको झल्किँदो आँखा र उनीहरूको निर्दोष माया हाम्रो गहिरो अन्तरतममा यसरी निम्त्याउन सक्छौँ कि हाम्रो सम्पूर्ण अस्तित्व नयाँ ताजगीले नुहाइदिन्छ। यदि कुनै भट्किएको आत्मा पनि होस्, ऊ धेरै समयसम्म छायोभित्र लुकेर बस्न सक्दैन, किनकि हरेक कुनामा नयाँ जन्म, नयाँ दृष्टि र नयाँ नाम प्रतीक्षा गरिरहेको हुन्छ। संसारको कोलाहलबीच यिनै साना- साना आशिषहरूले हामीलाई सम्झाइरहन्छन् कि हाम्रो जरामा कहिल्यै पूर्णरूपमा सुख्खा लाग्दैन; हाम्रो आँखा सामुन्ने नै जीवनको नदी शान्तिपूर्वक बगिरहेकी हुन्छे, हामीलाई बिस्तारै हाम्रो सबैभन्दा सत्य मार्गतिर थिच्दै, तान्दै, डाक्दै लगिरहेकी हुन्छे।


शब्दहरू बिस्तारै एउटा नयाँ आत्मालाई बुन्दै जान्छन् — खुल्ला ढोकाजस्तै, नर्म सम्झनाजस्तै, उज्यालाले भरिएको सन्देशजस्तै; यो नयाँ आत्मा हरेक पल हाम्रो नजिक आएर हाम्रो ध्यानलाई फेरि केन्द्रतर्फ फर्काउन बोलाउँछ। यसले हामीलाई सम्झाउँछ कि हामी प्रत्येकले आफ्नै उल्झनभित्र पनि एउटा सानो ज्योति बोकेकै छौँ, जसले हाम्रो भित्रको प्रेम र भरोसालाई यस्तो भेटघाटस्थलमा एकत्र गर्न सक्छ जहाँ कुनै सिमाना हुँदैन, कुनै नियन्त्रण हुँदैन, कुनै शर्त हुँदैन। हामी हरेक दिन आफ्नो जीवनलाई एउटा नयाँ प्रार्थनाजस्तो बाँच्न सक्छौँ — आकाशबाट ठूलो संकेत झर्नुपर्ने आवश्यकता छैन; कुरा त केवल यति हो कि आजको दिन यो क्षणसम्म जे सम्भव छ त्यति शान्त भएर आफ्नो हृदयको सबैभन्दा निस्तब्ध कोठामा बस्न सक्ने, न तर्सिँदै, न हतारिँदै, केवल सास भित्र-बाहिर गन्दै; यही साधारण उपस्थितिमा नै हामी पूरै पृथ्वीको भार केही अंश हलुका बनाउन सक्छौँ। यदि हामीले धेरै वर्षदेखि आफ्नै कानमा फुसफुसाउँदै आएका छौँ कि हामी कहिल्यै पर्याप्त छैनौँ, भने यही वर्ष हामी आफ्नै साँचो आवाजबाट बिस्तारै भन्न सिक्न सक्छौँ: “अब म उपस्थित छु, र यत्ति नै पर्याप्त छ,” र यही नर्म फुसफुसाहटकै भित्र हाम्रो भित्री संसारमा नयाँ सन्तुलन, नयाँ कोमलता र नयाँ अनुग्रह अंकुरिँदै जान थाल्छ।
